Final Open Workshop of the SEAKNOT Project: Shaping Upcoming Severe Accident Research – Be There!
SEPTEMBER 30, 2026, CIEMAT Madrid & ONLINE.
Are you involved in Severe Accident (SA) research, Nuclear Power Plant safety, or nuclear innovation? This Workshop is for you.
Connect with the SEAKNOT Community and the project final results! Join leading researchers, industry experts, and international stakeholders for an exclusive event focused on the real-world impact of the SEAKNOT project, paving the way toward a EUROPEAN roadmap for SA research.
The workshop will provide deep insight into the major outcomes of the project:
- The Severe Accident Research Roadmap (SARR), that will include the PIRT outcomes, the SA facilities available and will feed the Validation Database Directory (VADD), with the activities articulated in the three SEAKNOT technical pillars:
- The consolidated SA PIRT including LWRs/current fuels and SMLWRs/ATFs (PIRTSA)
- The novel EU Severe Accident Infrastructure NETwork (SAINET)
- The database of experimental data relevant for SA code validation (VAAD)
- The achievements in transferring knowledge and know-how in the SA field (KNOS), mainly through the Severe Accident Phenomenological SAP courses, the SA Summer Camp SASCamp and the ERMSAR Conferences.
Who Will Benefit?
- Experts in SA and nuclear safety
- Innovation leaders in the nuclear field
- Representatives from IAEA and OECD/NEA, key platforms for future SA collaboration
- EC Project Officers and SNETP/NUGENIA TA2 members—those directly shaping and benefiting from SEAKNOT outcomes
This dynamic event will spotlight how the SEAKNOT results will drive innovation, collaboration, and strategic direction in SA research, including the educational & training aspects, across Europe. It will also provide a platform for researchers, industry professionals, and stakeholders to discuss and exchange ideas on future research strategies towards a European severe accident roadmap.
